>We are dealing with entirely new circumstances in the digital age which has created a brand new type of man.Nah, it's not a new type of man, it's a very old type. The "I have no reason to participate because society can't give me anything I want" burden people are as old as civilization, and now the system is buckling. Political polarization, financial dysfunction, social atomization, and most of a generation of young men with nothing to lose, is ultimately a recipe for disaster. You seem to have it somewhere in your mind that civilization is a normal and natural thing that emerges on it's own. It isn't. It requires massive conscious effort to build, and almost as much effort to maintain. We're now beyond the point where there are more things being taken out of society by people rather than put in. We dropped below the civilization maintenance threshold years ago and everything is rapidly degenerating because of it.
