This may be true more broadly. Present day "democracy" is basically oligarchs ruling through propaganda and buying votes & politicians. Rulers with noblesse oblige would in many (most) cases be better than such democracy. The west's key problem is "democracy" allowed narcissistic psychopaths who hate us to rule us.

No king or "lord of this here realm" would tolerate the level of corruption, or the destruction of the next generations like it's been happening in the west.
