I have now done almost all of my Christmas shopping, 90% of which was done online from small businesses. As I often buy people several smaller things and I’m also making up Christmas stockings, this resulted in a lot of packages to go through, which I set aside some time for this afternoon.

I put some cosy Christmas jazz on and brought all the parcels into the kitchen. Before you could say, “oi!” Miss Cinnamon got up and plonked herself down on top of the biggest box. In the end she did let me open it, but only because she found a better, open, snug box she could get inside.
