That's been my conclusion too. If anything, I should be pissed at him for doing this to himself and for making me watch. I wish I was more of an asshole sometimes and didn't care. Things would be easier.

@c Don’t worry about it. You just gotta do your thing and internalize that saving people can end up drowning both of you. It’s the best position to be supportive of your friends, but not do things that jeopardize your own life.

My best friend sleeps well beyond noon most days and seems to have no drive whatsoever to improve his situation. I hate being a spectator to this. I don't know what it will do to our friendship long term but I expect us to grow apart and for him to end up living in minimalist squalor forever if he doesn't get his shit together.
