The only good outcome from therapy that I've heard of, even in fiction: Brian Boone, former husband of suitcase killer Sarah Boone. Marriage counseling led to this marriage breaking up, because Sarah would lie during the sessions to look good in front of the therapist, in front of Brian, while knowing that Brian knew she was lying.
Brian endured physical and emotional abuse, drunkenness, laziness, her usual very dumb behavior. But he couldn't endure discovering that his wife was a REDDITOR, saying words in direct conversation that are not intended for your conversational partner, but only intended to appeal to silent observers.
Although I bet he feels the occasional pain of guilt for loosing this woman on society.
