Have you noticed that Muslims have a great difficulty to apologize? To admit they were wrong, did a mistake, or caused damage? Did you notice them saying things like "a Muslim never lies" only to experience them doing exactly that despite evidence that exposes them?
By contrast, have you noticed the Japanese apologize for the smallest things, asking for your forgiveness, eagerly accepting blame, implicitly vowing to make things better, even though the blame may have been your own ignorance or carelessness (let's be honest)?
A fellow Churchgoer once said to me after visiting Japan, how the Japanese would be the best Christians if they ever convert. This point, among others, highlights why; as confessing our sins, accepting responsibility, and asking forgiveness is in the DNA of our Christian faith.
