I am trying my luck once again with Super Mario Land 2 - Six Golden Coins. So far I never managed to beat it. It has savegames, and in theory plenty of opportunity to gain extra lives, but something about the slippery movement of Mario rubs me the wrong way. I like the Wario games much more. And even though I haven’t beaten Sonic on the GameGear either, I came further to the finish line.

I tried the Wario Castle a few times, but failed. I am not in the mood to practice it more. So I am now looking at some of the secret levels.
The Space Zone secret level is relatively easy to reach. But as usual you have to go through this every time you want to play it.

@root42 @Wopu There is no checkpoint in Warios Castle. The most frustrating section of that level (at least for me) is the section where you're going to the left. Everything after that is pretty easy (especially Wario himself). Luckily you can play the game in easy mode if it is too hard. Even Warios Castle becomes much easier then. Easy mode is activated by pressing Select (?, if I remember correctly) on the save file selection screen before entering the pipe (it says easy mode then).
