The right long term move would have been to breed with the colonized women, like the Spanish and Portuguese did back then. A movement like BLM doesn't make sense if you are all mixed with the blood of the colonized and the colonizers.
It's a very US centric issue, up until the EU decidded to flood itself with immigrants without keeping them in check or assimilating them.
The Spaniards will fuck any woman anywhere and will have fun doing it, the prude anglos won't.
