Ok I understand that the #US political system is essenttially a #firstpastthepost system and as a result there can only be two viable political parties.
Rather than complaining about that reality, you know that there are real solutions. PR, Ranked Choice, etc. So let's talk about how you can make this happen in your country. #UK citizens face a similar dilemma, so let's hear from you guys, too. I have always lived in such countries but I'm not sure how YOU can make it happen. Do you?
@rozeboosje It's only a two-party system at the federal level. The solution has already existed for centuries and it's in the original US constitution: everything is done at the state and local levels and the federal gov is only responsible for very specific limited tasks.
So any solution would involve removing the power from the federal gov and bringing it back to the states/counties. Each country would have do go through its own balkanization to claw power back from the central usurpers.
