Moral dilemma. This is over 80 years old. Is it morally acceptable to modify it permanently?
It was sporterized after the war so… it’s not fully original already.
Should I approach this as a full rebuild to match traditional with technological improvements?
Much though must be placed into this.

You're free to modify as much as you want as long as it fulfills two important requirements simultaneously:
1. It improves its functionality
2. It improves its aesthetics
