Debt is very bad as a concept, since if you're willing to invest in something, you should simply invest - that's what company shares are for.
It serves a much better purpose and it's actually beneficial since all the investors are directly tied to the success of whatever enterprise it is. Also, dividends come from PROFIT, which is another incentive to keep the business lean, focused and grounded.
