One of the hardest aspects of game development is actually completing projects. It's so easy to dream up new ideas for projects or allowing feature creep to derail things. The key is to maintain your vision and create lots of short term goals to help focus your efforts.

To be fair, that's the hard challenge in life in general. Everyone can have ideas, short-term goals but the secret to success is the discipline and competence to bring things up to the end.

A good hack, although a bit expensive, is to hire very experienced developers during that last 10%. You don't need one during the whole project, but they will totally make the difference in the last phases.
