There is no profit selling food to poor people. The Daily Table, which was one of my favorite stores, closed after DOGE killed USAID.

it was a cool place actually. They did deals with the local food makers and they dropped off extra stuff they made or were testing or if they changed the packaging. I'd find a quality hummus for 99 cents what sold for $5 in other stores.
I think USAID paid their workers.
