@Zeb I don't think this article does justice to the electrical grid. It's more of a fear mongering article betting on people not knowing how electricity is generated. Temporary blackouts could happen, but as long as there's fuel, that system will stand. Just look at all these data centres. They consume a lot of electricity and yet our problem with them is cooling.
Also, I just looked it up and the USA only use 35% of it's theoretical maximum electricity output. So yeah, you'll be fine.
