Explosives are not very good at sabotage. They are effective in surprise attacks, assassination and in logistics disruption, but not sabotage itself.

Poison and chemical attacks are much better weapon as they cause a lot more long term damage, are harder to track and they might even not be obvious immediately, which causes them to be a lot deadlier long-term - plus the fear/paranoid effect is a weapon in itself.
