JP Morgan has been busted before, for examp;le, for continuing fraud in connection with mortgages and foreclosures during the 2009 crash. They avoided exposing internal documents regarding their role in facilitating Epstein's money laundering and sex trafficking activities by settling with the Virgin Islands without admission of guilt. They paid out $75 to the USVI (plaintiff) and another $290 million to victims of Epstein's activities, but as we saw from the lawsuits and penalties paid for their fraud in 2009, that's just "the cost of doing business" for JP Morgan.

That bank has a long history of malfeasance, going back to an attempted coup in the 1920s and even further back to when JP himself got a start as a financier. He had a bogus business refurbishing defective rifles for the Union during the Civil War. He started with vouchers to procure the rifles which he then returned without fixing their problems so that Union soldiers would continue to get blinded and their thumbs blown off.
