I once saw someone make a very valid point. They (the oligarchs) don't care if you become a techno hermit, just so long as you don't make it look easy or sexy. They want everyone in their system, but a handful escaping is no big deal so long it doesn't encourage more. Now, if you want to escape and be left alone, you must not pose a threat to the system. You must do your techno hermit thing without making others think it's a good idea. So you can't post videos or write blogs about how being a techno hermit is the way else the eye of Sauron will find you and immolate you. You can say you plan to do it but make damn sure the NPCs never think it's better than living in the pig farms with them. Tell them you just read or tend to chores to survive most of the time and the system won't care that you escaped your pen and now roam free. It's the noisy one's that get noticed out where they're not supposed to be 😉
