@Justicar The CCP used the same playbook during the Chinese civil war, they left the Nationalists to do the heavy lifting fighting the Japanese occupation, (at USA insistence), allowing them to sweep away the exhausted and corrupted Kuomintang which had been riddled with communist double agents and take possession of the country.
