Overstaying a tourist visa should just be a fine, and a modest one at that. But only so long as there was indeed a valid visa in the first place.

That sounds like the Chinese Government.
The government welds your door shut and then outlaws starting a business and living in McMansions, cars, skyscrapers, and tiny homes.
The governments bans body odor and then closes stores and bans delivery services.
The state closes bathrooms and then outlaws public urination.
The government closes the border and then arrests tourists for overstaying their visas.
Americans scream anyone who post articles about government abuse is protecting the government.

I don't agree with everything that Rand Paul says... In fact, I find some of the things he says questionable. But he's one of the few in DC that comes close to what I would call a Patriot, so I'll take what I can get.
