I was raised by much older, chronically sick parents. I saw far too much of hospitals as a youngster. My father was a hospital patient as often as he was at home with his family. For instance, as a seven year old rock and roll fanatic, I had to watch the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show on a television in the hospital lobby.
Every time my father underwent his latest surgery, he came out the worse for the wear. They never made him better. They never healed him.

You know that you live in the Twilight Zone when Americans look you in the eye and say that the US debt is only due to infrastructure investment and not because of welfare and war spending.
Americans are completely insane now.
Americans scream that there would be no unintended consequences if millionaires were taxed at a higher tax rate.
Americans swear that if toothpicks were banned today then there would be no chance tyranny would increase in the future.
Americans are so dead and degraded now that if the US Army liquidates Fargo tomorrow, no one would even shrug.

@freepatriot I think I was wiretapped for a time. Every time I was on the phone, I kept hearing clicks. I thought I was going nuts until I sat there in a quiet area on a call, nope, those were clicks.

If you said that the government was wiretapping your phone in 1999, everybody would have called you a nutjob.
Now if you say that the government is wiretapping your phone, no one cares.
How can Americans sleep at night now or look in a mirror without feeling disgusted and ashamed?
