Trump will literally burn the world down to prevent the awful truth from escaping.

We might as well turn the page and realize there will be no going home.

The America we love is gone. It is up to all of us to make sure that whatever comes out the other side of this nightmare is something our descendants can be proud of.

We are on the same side, even if not in 100% perfect alignment.

Trump was, I believe, the last chance to right the ship before it capsizes. He has failed, and failed through hubris, arrogance, egotism, poor judgment of character in his official appointments, low and unscrupulous associates, grifting family members, and the betrayal of people who gave him their support.

That chance is gone. I do not have a crystal ball but I do not see any way out of this that does not involve a bloody, merciless fight soon.

My ancestors were all Confederates. I honor them for defending their homeland, but as the war did not necessarily develop to their advantage, they might have held off a bit and worked with people in the North to find a solution. They didn’t (or could not) and the rest is history.

So we’re going to vote ourselves out of this mess? How common. I stopped voting in national elections when I realized Jack Kennedy was killed in a coup. That was 40 years ago.
