Hmmmm, y'all had the "Obscenity" exception to the First Amendment bedded in by then. "Sedition" and "National Security" had to wait until 1917 and 1948, respectively.

It would be fairer to say the USA had more free speech than any country in 1910, and still has more than any other Western country.
