Good point, but the difference with Russia is that they are capable of energy & economic independence, unlike Japan in this context.

When you hit the big 7-0, your perspective on things changes as you come closer to the end game. This requires some humility about yourself and your place in the world.
The US government is treating Russia just as it treated Japan before World War II fully took hold.
President Roosevelt was inflicting embargos on the Japanese, freezing their money, and cutting them off from all energy.
When they turned to buying fuel from other nations, Roosevelt threatened to blockade their ships. Is it any wonder why the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor to eliminate the US fleet after the threat of an embargo?

That's dead in the water.
America needs to hire Americans, and if they're not capable, then America needs to invest in them.
A country that doesn't invest in it's people loses it's Nation status and becomes just a piece of land with a bunch of different ethnicities on it. It's the road to ruin, just ask Canada.
