People who never go to 'high school' skip much of the social indoctrination. They tend to be outsiders. Cliques and networking werent heavily instilled. Even by casual observation you find jhs/lower grade kids with all kinds of bookbags. By their hs senior year they all have Jansport or whatever's currently 'clever'.
