@monarchist @Palky55 @heretical_i @freepatriot Yes! It is a wonderful and sad proof of how swedish society (and perhaps our civilization) are deteriorating.
When no one will be able to read, science will implode and we'll be back in the dark ages.
But first there will be a slow decline, things starting to stop working, scientific progress slowing down, and the decline will then increase, until some kind of collapsing event.
@monarchist @h4890 @Palky55 @heretical_i @freepatriot i prefered to drink my knowledge
@monarchist @h4890 @Palky55 @heretical_i @freepatriot well if my wife would let me bring over a few younger gals to bump nasties with…problem solved

So nihilism, typically is no values, relativism, is your own subjective values, which in a way can be seen as no objective values.
It seems to me that depending on definitions nihilism can encompass relativism, or relativism can encompass nihilism.
@monarchist @Palky55 @heretical_i @freepatriot I often think that perhaps the solution to the fermi paradox is that as civilizations progress, they realize this truth and slowly fade out of existence.

Well, reproduction is only a problem if you place your purpose in life in external things, and if you build your society on an ever increasing population, that will be ever increasingly in debt.
The ones born, will be nothing more than cogs in the machine, to feed and clothe the previous generation.
I find that a dehumanizing way to think about reproduction and the purpose of reproduction.
At the end of the day, I am probably too "libertarian"
@monarchist @Palky55 @heretical_i @freepatriot for offspring. I would not want them to become machine parts.
On the other hand, I'm already immortal at the systems level, so perhaps this philosophical realization is also a contributing factor to short circuiting the biological drive for offspring?
@h4890 @Palky55 @heretical_i @freepatriot
Very sad. It seems to me that much of the point of college was to be able to read and assimilate complex books and then apply the knowledge?
@h4890 @Palky55 @heretical_i @freepatriot
We in the first world are headed for a collision with reality.
Our people are not reproducing enough. No one seems very happy.
And we are in debt and broke because of infrastructure commitment.
@h4890 @heretical_i @Palky55 @freepatriot
Nihilism is consistent with relativism, but avoids the human projection which tends to assert relative measurements as "objective."
To my mind, "objective" and "subjective" are false categories since there is so much overlap.
