Elon Musk is good at pretty much nothing but marketing, yet is a billionaire.

Meanwhile someone eho is good at a practical task, like welding or cooking, can only expect much MUCH lower wages in ultra-capitalist systems. This is why the tipping culture in the US is so generous. People have to LIVE off their tips despite their food quality.

Generally what I hear from my corner of the internet (that's a disclaimer) is that equality means equality of opportunity, where equity means equality of condition.

@cjd @h4890 @korsier @freepatriot

I have to disagree here: these things become runaway quests in themselves.

Social engineering has no end point. You are constantly trying to force people to behave as if they were intelligent, good, and introspective.

All this does is offload the bad into the future.

Agreed on the unwarranted overconfidence (Peter Principle + DKE) of scientific management.

@monarchist @freepatriot I'm currently watching a 4 part documentary about the history of swedish metal. I starts with Bathery, Candlemass, Yngwie Malmsteen and Europe in the swedish suburb of Upplands Väsby and then traces how they inspired other bands and genres. Very interesting how so many bands could spring into existence in Upplands väsby at the same time.

Gothenburg also had a similar moment, where several famous bands were founded around the same suburb.

It is geoblocked but you can get around that with tor. What I do not know however is if there are english subtitles.

Let me add that in our ultra-capitalist times, although I do not like the term, welders on north sea oil platforms are paid enormous amounts of money. Enough to retire very early.

Let me also add that Elon Musk is a ninja, but if it were one thing that I do not like about Elon is that he is too good at sucking government money into his ventures. That part is not capitalist, it is mercantilist and socialist.

@monarchist @freepatriot True! I think for this thought you can read Neal Stephensons Snowcrash.

Oilplatforms are too stationary. They will be surrounded and shut down if the community is too successful would be my guess.

@monarchist @Example @korsier @freepatriot

To me it seems that very often, the ones belittling CEOs are people who have no idea about what a CEO does and who have never worked as CEOs themselves. Usually these people tend to dig up the tired "all of them are psychos" argument as well, which is the time when I start to not listen any longer.

@monarchist @Example @korsier @freepatriot But apart from that, no one can quarrel with the fact that the man clearly is smart and has enormous skill as an entrepreneur.

@Example @monarchist @korsier @freepatriot

I disagree. The government has distorted and is such a powerful actor on the markets, as well as regulator, that it can hardly be called a capitalist system. It is closer to a mercantilist system, where the ones close to power benefit the most.

Free markets are sadly becoming less common, and we are saying mass protests as a result of eco-fascism and socialism which is slowly dismantling the markets.

@h4890 @freepatriot @monarchist Singapore is an authoritarian state. You must be willing to put up with a lot of limits on personal freedom to live there. It has more in common with the PRC than typical western countries. I agree though that our western democracies are eroding. We have too many selfish voters who think only of what they can get if they vote left and don't care about the consequences. I think Heinlein had it right, only those willing to serve their country selflessly should get the vote. Id considering living in the US but only in a red state like Texas.

Capitalism will eventually lead to the same end as communism. Both created at the same time by the Jew. Both international movements were rather than finding national partners one seeks outside the nation for partners in both business and politics.

One is international.

And thus the Jews will find the traitors that they need.

National socialism is so far the only solution that was able to prove all other ideologies wrong.

@korsier @freepatriot @monarchist We will in time realize that "why do we need democracy at all"? It is just a drag on results.

Let's use the tool that brought us wealth and quality of life, capitalism, and discard the unnecessary rest such as democracy.

But for that to happen, I think humanity needs to be ready, and looking at our education system and intelligence today, I Don't think we are ready for it except for small pockets.

@korsier @freepatriot @monarchist would you say that democracy yield high taxes, low quality public services etc.?

As for capitalism, that is outside the realm of governance. It is a tool (markets and free trade) that can be used to improve the lives of everyone, over time. Democracy adopted the tool, as did Putin and communist china, and once they allowed some amount of capitalism, they all prospered to some extent.

I believe that the future is capitalism and more private ownership.
