I was always too honest to get a management job when I worked for global IT corporations.

I did get a mgmt job as a consultant, but since I worked remotely, while the rest of the mgmt team worked on site, it was in the end too difficult to play the political game that way, so the company went woke, and I moved on. I did however, manage to save the company from trying to enforce veganism on its employees and customers! That's something I remember with

Mixed seems to fit the bill, although it is an imprecise term.

But the market is a tool, and smart communists and socialists learned from the famines of russia and china and use just enough of the tool to avoid that.

But with all things related to social science, the problem is always... where do we draw the line?

For me, personally, what we have today is most definitely _not_ a capitalist system. For lack of a better term, I can agree to mixed.

@EvolLove @h4890 @freepatriot @monarchist That's a big call. I don't see how Nazi ideology has been successfully at all.

I think middle mgmt is where you see the worst rent seekers. They produce nothing, they know it at some level, yet, they are paid too much. This creates the perfect breeding ground for soulless parasites who can shift their opinion and attitude at a seconds notice, to please the next level of mgmt.

In order to reach the top, you have to play this game for decades and in the process, you will have destroyed your soul and integrity.

@monarchist @korsier @freepatriot Very much so! He was thrown into prison for 30 days without knowing what was happening.

And this is sweden!

There's another story of a man who was sentenced to life in prison, wrongfully. After 10 years, he managed to prove his innocence himself, since his lawyers gave up.

I think he at least got 1 MUSD in damages.

But such is life in the state. The state has the power and coudln't care less about its subjects.

@monarchist @Example @korsier @freepatriot Maybe. Difficult for me to judge how much is Elon and how much is his employees, but yes, he does seem to have technical intuition, since if he calls the shots, he's the one who selects the long term goals and the employees, and he has been doing a good job there!

I also like his free speech pathos! But I do not know if this is for show, for convenience or something he actually believes.

@h4890 @monarchist @Example @freepatriot Middle management are the first to go when it's retrenchment time.
@h4890 @monarchist @freepatriot Most micro nations are not doing well. Places like Lichtenstein and Monaco are the exception to the rule because they built a solid economy that doesn't rely on exporting natural resources. Most of the Pacific island nations have not innovated in the same way and are either broke or reliant on aid.
@h4890 @monarchist @freepatriot Depends on the polity. Kim Jong Un is a king in all but name, but you dare not speak out and you can't leave. Absolute power has too much potential to go bad.
@h4890 @monarchist @freepatriot Politicians are concerned with winning elections. The net result is that they are often conflicted between what they actually believe is best vs what they think will win at the polls. If a leader of a typical western liberal country goes to the polls promising massive spending cuts voters will see that as cuts to services and they'll get decimated. A good example would be Peter Dutton of Australia, who was far too honest and got slaughtered.

Wow.

Americans have never read a history book and are in denial about everything.

Americans say the US did not have churches in 1776, gulags have never existed, and the Vietnam War never happened.

The boxcars won't even be needed because Americans are so enslaved now that Americans will drive themselves to the concentration camps.

Working hard and knowing that you will be arrested in the future is a terrible feeling.

The US has been mostly socialist since the 1960s.

The WW2 compact involved accepting socialism and communism as extensions of democracy.

Subsequent events proved some key differences...

Useful question with an eternal answer: you select your best people by their works in reality, and get them together with others, then make sure intelligent women are available, so you can breed a caste of those born with leadership skills including nobility and gumption.
