I wonder if technology really always is an improvement.

I remember reading 1984 in the late 70's. I thought it was a little far-fetched. Big Brother seemed impossible. I couldn't figure out how the government could get us to agree to that level of surveillance.

I have a friend without a phone who is a software developer. He is completely fine and sees no reason to get one.

Another friend had no phone and is a home care worker. Her job told her to get a phone or she'd be fired, so she quit.

I have never owned a mobile phone or smart phone.

I don't have a phone and my life is better for it.

The hardest part is all the people who make it their weird mission to make you get a phone and conform. They just can't handle someone who exists in a way they don't.
