Maybe living in a free country leads people to be trusting and friendly and living in a police state causes people to be suspicious and rude.
Americans used to be surprised Russians from the Soviet Union were unfriendly.
Now that the USA is also a police state, you might understand why.
Everyone should be expected to be arrested now that the USA is a police state.
Everything is illegal.
Lying used to be legal.
Now lying is illegal and you won't be allowed to offer proof in court if you tell the truth and your lawyers will be arrested.
Does anyone get the feeling that if our overlords decreed that everyone must have their thumbs amputated, Americans would agree that the law makes sense and must be obeyed?

The "Epstein" networks are composed of people, and with more than their fair share of usual vices. The networks are quite secure even if they don't corrupt every single leader.
Some honest candidates will always slip through, especially at local levels, and in electorates far from the seat of power.
Expect the honest to be primaried after one term - but even if that fails, evil only needs a majority, not a consensus. And even if an honest man or woman is holding real power, her or his staff and information can be captured.
I think there are more unthinking careerist cowards than actual blackmailed monsters in the halls of power (at least in the lower and middle levels).

When my local (then prospective) MP had his party members out canvassing, I explained why I was disillusioned with the system. She told me that he was a decent chap (which I don't doubt) but my point was that if he stays any length of time and is offered *promotions* within the party, his job will depend on him eventually compromising on issues that matter to his constituents; so he will take the coin.
He can't bring himself to say that there are two sexes, and just spouts generic stuff about *most marginalised* etc, as did she. I don't for one minute think that they believe any of this. This tells me all I need to know.
Just because he isn't (as far as I know) a paid up globalist shill (he still campaigns about local issues to his credit), doesn't mean he hasn't been selected for potential.
