@monarchist @freepatriot increased tax revenue. By becoming more libertarian, the state grows smaller, people happier, and "the state exists for me" again is established.
But this trend I do not think I have observed "organically" happening. It always needs a crisis to appear, which seems to be the only thing that wakes up the people.
@monarchist @freepatriot Yes!
@monarchist @freepatriot This is the truth! It is converted from "society exists for me", once the parasitic class emerges, into "you exist for society". And once we arrived at the second statement, meaning disappears, fertility starts to decline, surveillance and tax police harass people etc.
I wouldn't be surprised if western democracies will unavoidably (unless a revolution takes place) become more and more authoritarian. That's the only way they can continue to grow in terms of
@monarchist @freepatriot Amen! If there ever is a connection between lowered tax rates, treating people as people and not cog wheels and increased fertility I'll happily name it! ;)
It's a classic case of means over ends
Society is the means to our survival, in part, but then it becomes dominated and an end in itself.
From that comes the bureaucracy.
"Why would you want to produce offspring condemned to slavery?"
Why modern societies die out.
What we think of as "the state" arises from the bureaucracy itself, as does democracy (per WSB).
