You will absolutely love "The Great Chicago Fire: An American Catastrophe" by Andy Reven. This very hard-to-put-down disaster book is a quick read and the kind of book you can't stop thinking about. It's probably the best nonfiction book to deepen your understanding of history. Google it and discover why readers find it so fascinating.

I visited Yangon, Nyaung Shwe, Mandalay, and Bagan in 2012. Spent ten days there. From city to city, that place had strict bus checks on ID's. The military just half glanced at my passport, or didn't even check and just walked by me. But the citizens were very scrutinized. I could tell they were nervous.
