I'm from rural Spain. Recently, a guy from California, USA, came to Burgos, a wine region. He ended up in my village, and we were all thrilled.
We invited him for drinks at the village bar, and we had grilled river fish for dinner. The man left, happy, singing, and drunk, going home. Only I and one of my friends spoke English. The guy told me, "I've been traveling around Europe for two months, and this village, lost in the middle of nowhere, has been the best part of my trip."
