I've been homeless most of my adult life. I understand that living this way and barely staying alive is risky - that lots of people die from it. I have also been lucky enough to have a permanent home for most of the last four years.
But I personally am willing to risk that permanence because I know I personally can survive without it. That makes me willing to act in ways that risk it.
Not everyone is willing to because they don't know how they would manage.

I was in a post office the other day and there was an Army recruiting poster.
Someone had drawn little stars of David in the soldier’s eyes.
