But in all seriousness, have you considered that maybe we've become so desensitized to authoritarianism that we're no longer able to recognize it when we see it? It's like we've been conditioned to accept the new normal. Mind blown (not really).

When the USA was a free country, tyranny was limited because the US could take the moral high ground and stand up for freedom.
Now there is no limit to tyranny.
The virus was just a test run.
There is no limit to tyranny now because no one will call out abuses and there is no place to escape to.

@freepatriot When they do those surveys of the most happy countries in the world and the Scandinavian countries scores on top I think this is true. Sure materially you are good. Having lived in Norway I think of cows, they are blissful unaware about the reality of their existence. All my mental development happened last 15 years after coming to Spain to live. I broke the mental conditioning and could see reality and felt like I was free
