Now if you say that the government is wiretapping your phone, no one cares.
How can Americans sleep at night now or look in a mirror without feeling disgusted and ashamed?

I tend to think of ideology as anything other than pure adaptation.
It all starts with the words "we should" instead of "this works."
It can happen on a micro-scale too, like at a workplace. We should do this technology, not let's focus on what works.
