It was 53 years ago that Jean Raspail wrote The Camp of the Saints in an attempt to wake up the French nation to the future challenge they would face. The French response was to dismiss Raspail’s effort as a dystopian novel and do nothing.

The government has spent billions making certain that it can survive almost anything. But survival of the government is not the same as preservation of the republic.
Build the surveillance system. Build the detention centers. Expand the raids. Normalize executive rule by decree. Weaken the courts. Sideline Congress. Militarize the machinery of enforcement. Then hand it all to the next regime.
The faces change. The powers remain.
So much of what Trump is using today was inherited from presidents before him. So much of what he is building now will remain available to presidents after him.

Once a country develops an entrenched Deep State, only a revolution or another dictatorship can eliminate it. And probably only in a small country.
Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government, owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people.
War and sovereign debt are merging into a vicious spiral that will determine which nations survive the coming monetary crisis. Governments entered the conflicts in Ukraine and Iran, along with the escalating confrontation between the United States and China, already buried beneath debt accumulated through decades of fiscal incompetence.
