So true. I'm partial to the Enlightenment but Jesus also made the point that human life shouldn't just be ruled by the law of the jungle. What the administration argues for, that those with more force should be able to exert their will. That has really been US foreign policy under a cloak of democracy promotion PR since WW2. Trump is just more forthright about it.
#DaPope is at least a vocal symbol that lots of people think that attitude is abhorrent.
@wjmaggos Anyone believing in the modern concept of the state, also accepts that it rules based on, ultimately, violence or the threat of violence.
States preaching "peace" and abstaining from force, is nothing but hypocritical.
Try not paying your taxes, and then behold the use of force against you.
If more people realized this, we would then finally be ready to kill all politicians and move on from the childish fiction of the nation state.
