So another mass shooting in the USA (in Louisiana) and no doubt we'll hear a range of US politicians saying their hearts & prayers go out to the victims, but offering nothing in the way of a resolution for this problem.... because they claim no-one has found a way to limit gun use while not impeding political freedoms.... that is, apart from most other developed countries.

Gun violence in the USA is not a natural phenomenon, its the result of political choice(s)!

As their close neighbour, here in canada, the difference in culture and effects with guns and laws is quite amazing: we are literally like next of kin, but...

The United States has had the most mass shootings of any country. In one 2017 study published in Time magazine by criminologist Adam Lankford, it was estimated that 31% of public mass shootings occur in the US, although it has only 5% of the world's population.

As with healthcare, Canada only looks good when compared to the USA and not Euro countries, but it's a lot less.
Yes, the odd knife wielding nutter goes crazy in china or the uk, but the carnage is nothing like it is in the USA with guns.

@gemlog Note that if you remove criminals, the figures look quite alright for the US. Not that it improves the situation, but sometimes european media gives the impression that bullets are flying in every city in the US, and that is clearly not true.

If you avoid criminal areas of cities, the chance that you will be encountering gun violence in the US is very low.
