It's kinda funny how right-wing and center-right people like Bryan Lunduke are more ideologically aligned with free software, user freedom and "sticking it to the man" in general, supporting underdog projects like Xlibre, while FOSS people who are nominally on the Left tend to support IBM/RedHat-controlled technologies like systemd, GNOME, Flatpak etc. as well as Canonical's Rust rewrites of the coreutils, and consider people like Richard Stallman to be "chuds" and the GPL to be outdated or impractical.

I'm not making a judgement on whose choices are better objectively or who's morally right, I just find it really funny that this is the state of the affairs. We live in la-la land.

@VIPPER I'm making the judgment that Lunduke is sane, and a lot of open source enthusiasts are woke socialists.

I'm so happy I've managed to keep my open source meetup more or less politics free for more than a decade.

From time to time a SJW comes in, but quickly leaves, because no one wants to discuss gender or homos. All are there to discuss technology.
