And the accusations are absolutely true. Kyiv’s struggle with corruption stems partly from the fact that there was so much of it in the past that “almost everybody in the system” is tainted. But over the years, Ukrainians have had little choice but to break certain rules.
@kibcol1049 This is a classic, bad, argument against ukraine from pro-russians. "You cannot help ukraine, they are corrupt." The problem is that ukraines corruption and them being the victim of a war are unrelated questions. You can agree with their corruption, but still want to help a foreign nation fight off invaders.
For pro-russians, it is very difficult to understand this.
