@troed What then happens is that the top 20% do the manual labour, the rest cheat, and have difficulties finding jobs.

@troed This is the truth! I am trying to teach my students that they have to invest the time and manual labour in programming to build up their intuition of what works and what doesn't. With that intuition and experience, they will be able to use LLM:s profitably.

But skipping the basics, and going straight to vibe coding has the potential of doing more harm than good to the company they will be working for.

@ChrisMayLA6 A wise choice, and may you have a relaxing and enjoyable week!

@lain Excellent choice! The Donald Trump of BBQs!

@elston_ No one is surprised. It is also important to keep in mind that "loan" is juts lipstick on the pig. This money will never be repaid.

🇺🇦 EU WILL FACE NEW UKRAINE LOAN IN 2027 — WSJ

The Wall Street Journal reports that the EU will likely need to approve a new loan for Ukraine in 2027.

The originally planned €90 billion EU package was expected to cover two years, but the financing gap has widened.

➡Kiev is now said to need an additional €19 billion to cover its budget needs.

@Em0nM4stodon @jerry Wtf? Why would I want to give you a gift? I do not even know you.

If you work for me, and if you do a good job, I will pay you though.

Today is my Fediversary! :rainbowdance:

I cannot tell you enough how much the Fediverse and Mastodon changed my life positively.

From the amazing community,
to a new connected social life free from big tech's authoritarianism, I will forever be grateful for what I found here 💚

If you want to give me a gift for my Fediversary, please send a donation to my incredible instance Infosec Exchange, generously administrated by @jerry

🎁 :em_rainbow: liberapay.com/Infosec.exchange/

On each of our Fediversary,
let's take a moment to appreciate all the people who kindly give their time to manage an instance for free, to do the hard work of moderation to protect us all, to contribute with code, documentation, art, and more. Without them, you and I wouldn't be here.

Thank you everyone for being part of this community :blobcatheart:

Long live the Fediverse! :blobcheer: :mastodon:

You can also try to disable the autosuspend for the Thunderbolt controller by adding a kernel module option. Create a new file /etc/modprobe.d/thunderbolt.conf with the following content:

options thunderbolt autosuspend=0

After making these changes, make sure to update your GRUB configuration by running sudo update-grub (or sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg on some systems).

@root42 This is what the AI suggests:

Try adding intel_pch_watchdog=0 to your GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT. This can sometimes help with issues related to Intel's PCH (Platform Controller Hub) watchdog timer.

Another option is to add usbcore.autosuspend=-1 to prevent USB devices from autosuspending, which might be interfering with your Thunderbolt SSD.

Astrophysicists have found evidence of UAPs in old photographic plates. Something seems to have been orbiting around our planet before we had satellites! This finding has been independently confirmed. Still, scientists are afraid to speak out. @drbeavillarroel @rizstanford

@ChrisMayLA6 Add to that the difference in taxes and political systems which also adds to price differences.

@ChrisMayLA6 True. But then they aren't "true" capitalists, since they choose a less efficient form of organization for acting on the market. ;)

@lain I suspect they work fairly well with my modus operandi, when it comes to "vibe coding". That is...

1. Keep it short, smal functions, not more than 10-20 lines of code at most.

2. Keep it checkable. Make sure that the code does something that you can easily check.

I've been fairly successful with 1 & 2 using free models.
