@shortstories This is the truth! I feel lucky that I was able to study philosophy at a time when polarization and woke control of higher education was minimal. We had truly free discussions. There were socialists and capitalists in class, and we learned from each other.
Based on what I read and hear, universities are in a sad, sad state.

Hilarious! It looks as if electric car owners in the UK will have to pay tax based on the distance they are driving.
I've been arguing that this will happen for many, many years.
First people are hounded to buy an expensive electric car to "save the environment" and then, when the tax income from gasoline decreases, the electric car owners are hit with mileage tax.

Europe just keeps sliding further and further down into oblivion and the only skill is regulations and socialism, which provably will lead to collapse. Just like it did in the soviet union.

Codeberg voting members have the right to decide the policy of their association, and I understand if a community is averse to anything that is AI- or Web3-related. I understand it, but I don't agree with it, because it's 2026, and if you still think you can just stick your head in the sand and wish for these ugly bad things to go away, well, I have bad news for you.
To me, this is a perfect recipe to relegate Codeberg to irrelevance. And we are already seeing the beginning of a new exodus.
Here is my conspiracy theory: the vote was pushed or manipulated from the inside by Big Tech. Whether this is true or not, one thing is sure: folks at Microsoft, GitHub, OpenAI etc. are now popping champagne.

What counts is the quality of the code, and if it does what I want it to do. In fact... if someone wants to upload sub-par quality code, that on them.
I'm in no way forced to use any open source software project, so I can just choose not to use it.
The codeberg guys just seem like little homos acting like this.

I love it when a restaurant has good service. I went to a taco place, they sell 5 tacos for 18 EUR. One contains mushrooms which I do not like, so I ask them to replace it.
The answer? It's against our policy.
