Observation: While many movies from the early 2000s still hold up today (sometimes it seems like they came out yesterday) the same cannot be said of anime. This can mean many things, for example, that movies are made to endure, whereas anime are meant to work in the current moment before they culturally expire. On the other hand, it can also mean that anime is young form of art, leaving behind its former iterations at a higher pace, compared to well established forms and techniques in film.
