On June 18, 1880, a monument to Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, Russia’s greatest poet, was unveiled in #Moscow. From 10 o'clock in the morning, crowds of people and numerous carriages began to converge on the square by the Strastnoy Monastery. It seemed as if all of Moscow had come to pay homage to the great poet. Around the monument's platform, white panels with the titles of the Pushkin's works embossed in gold were mounted on poles.
