@marlathetourist did they really though...or was it just the government imposing its force onto the people?

@Justicar Why do you separate the state from the elected body I.e. people? Government prior to the 19th Amendment was made up of primarily men. Ergo women were given voting rights by men.

@marlathetourist did the people voted to give women rights via referendum or did only the members of the parliament/congress voted on it?
