Can't we sell the offices to homebuilders and make them condos and apartments after adding some showers and kitchens? I always wanted to buy an industrial warehouse and make it a home. There's a housing crisis and a surplus of office space and no one's thinking this way?

A lot of people are but they can't do it. Guess why? The fucking government.
Due to zone restrictions and impossible-to-get building permits to convert them, the cost to build and navigate the red tape to be allowed to sell them as residences, don't justify the investment.
It's not profitable as long as the government is involved.
