Dozens of giant turbines on Scotland’s windfarms have been powered by diesel generators, the Sunday Mail can reveal.

Scottish Power admitted 71 of its windmills were hooked up to the fossil fuel supply after a fault developed on the grid.

The state
said it was forced to act in order to keep the turbines warm during very cold weather in December.

@freepatriot The whole green movement is a massive grift.

Now they are just useful idiots to help enslave humanity. Fucking cucks.

Green energy doesn't work in winter? At least your dead frozen ass could be burned for fuel

@societyoutcasts @freepatriot I assume English isn't your first language.

The environmental movement (green movement) is a completely different beast than alternative energy sources. Solar is a viable option depending on circumstances.

Turning off existing carbon neutral power sources, burying research data, calling for genocide are all hallmarks of the movement, not the technology.

I think solar works for individual homes, especially in rural areas. Using it to power cities isn't practical

@societyoutcasts @freepatriot I think we are in agreement. There are tons of practical applications for green energy (though wind is kind of crap in general), but the calls to replace the primary grid with green energy is...insane.

Also solar is awesome for hiking.

@societyoutcasts @freepatriot I have one that gets tied to the back of my hiking pack and charges as I go. They're not perfect but it's great to keep all your devices, lanterns and such charged. Extra awesome if you pair it with a small battery back up (I have a 2kg one that covers the needs of like 3 of us when we even being device use heavy).

There are good sized solar chargers that can directly charge devices w/o the backup if you want to save weight. Good option IMO.

@sandsmith @freepatriot

I was thinking of purchasing one to hang off my bag when I'm out. I wasn't sure how well they work.

@societyoutcasts Hugely weather based. Also you want to secure it to the bag. You won't jump a car with it, but charging things like phones, GPS, rechargeable batteries, etc.

They are shit for powering active devices so stuff that can be charged while not being used since sun comes and goes on a mobile thing like your back.
