On June 25, 1997, the first flight of the multipurpose attack helicopter Ka-52 "Alligator" took place. It was piloted by test pilot Alexander Smirnov. This all-weather, round-the-clock combat helicopter was developed by the Kamov Design Bureau (now JSC Kamov).
