The longer I observe politics in Western European countries, the stronger the impression I get that far-left figures like Jean-Luc Mélenchon in #France serve only to strengthen the ideologically empty center such as Macron's coalition.Liberal governments themselves create such extremists and then, by frightening people with them, they maintain power. I do not know what other role Mélenchon could play.
