Guys, I would like your advice on something pretty insteresting.
My brother wants to change to a new profession. He's been a system analyst for 15 years but he forecasts (and me too, tbh) that this area will change and be reasonable reduced in the next 5-10 years.
He wants to go back to college and do medicine to become a doctor in 6 years. There's a good advantage because, since he will be a middle-aged white doctor, he will be trusted and sought by everyone (no DEI).
Is it a good idea?
@Zeb It's a good skill set to have, no matter the scenario. The real question is, does he have the mental fortitude to go back and spend (no less than) 6 grueling years not making money and doing little more than reading books and stressing over assignments and deadlines? Or would he rather put that money into something easier that works best in the short term?
Usually, the best time to sacrifice the short term for the long term, is when things are stable and predictable.
